TGIF
It's finally Friday and a Halloween Weekend! This was a tough week. Chris has been sick with a head cold all week and hasn't taken a day off to rest. I had a terrible sinus headache for two days and was able to stay home on Tuesday to sleep off the pain and catch up with a few things at home, including knitting my sock. I actually felt so crappy that I didn't knit as much as I would have liked, but I am very close to finishing. I am almost at the toe! I am determined to finish it in time for the close of Socktoberfest!
I have continued to work on the blue crayon sweater at work and am at the point where I need to start on the sleeves. So, despite sinus and allergy issues, I have made knitting progress!
I have a busy weekend planned. Tomorrow I am going to the Sugarloaf Craft Show in Ft. Washington with my mom to get started on holiday shopping. It is an annual visit for us. There are a few artists I always like to check out: Folio glass, Susan Loy Calligraphy, Rona Fisher Jewelry, and Moosup Valley Designs. After that, I need to finish my sock and work on house chores--oh joy!
Sunday is a Halloween parade in my sister's development. My niece and nephew will be in the parade, and since I won't be able to visit them on Halloween, I want to see them in their costumes Sunday. I also have to stop at the King of Prussia Mall, which is on my way to my sister's house, and return perfume I bought from Sephora. I bought it online, with many other things, but after I smelled it I decided it wasn't for me. The sales receipt says I can return in person, so I am hoping to exchange it for another scent. I don't know what I was thinking--the scent is chocolate covered cherries, which smell and taste good, but not as a perfume.
On Monday my office is having a Halloween party/luncheon. I spent this afternoon and evening making cookies for it. I made oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and gingersnaps. The gingersnaps are one of my favorite cookies to make--they smell incredible, look nice, and are very simple to bake. They make a great fall cookie.
When I was home sick on Tuesday, I spent time unpacking winter clothes from the attic. I found the one and only sweater I ever knit for myself. I really love this sweater--especially the pattern--because it took forever to knit and involved my first cables. Unfortunately the darn thing grew over the years and is absolutely gigantic now. I knit it way before I had become a yarn snob and knit it out of acrylic yarn--I think Red Heart. It is now softer from repeated washings. The sleeves have always been too big on me and it makes a better outdoor sweater than an indoor one because it is so warm. I am thinking of stuffing a pillow form in it and use it as a giant pillow instead of a too-big sweater. Someday I'll knit another sweater, with better yarn and following a gauge!
Have you checked out Etsy.com? It is a fabulous online store for crafters to sell their products. I found the baby bug boutique on it and fell in love with the bags she makes and sells. I have wanted to make myself a tote bag for a while, but my sewing skills are inadequate and I have enough hobbies as it is, so I bought a bag from this shop. It has a lime green interior with two inside pockets and a hard bottom to give it shape. It is made out of canvas and seems to be very well made.
Well, that's my week's update. Have a fun weekend!

Hi there!
I just wanted to stop by and thank you for the kind gift you sent to me. It was so sweet and brightened up my day! I have always wanted some knitting note cards, they are so cool! And I can't wait to knit up some face cloths for the kids and I. The gift was unnecessary, but i loved every bit of it, thank you again:)
I think I might have to make those ginger snaps, they look too yummy to pass up!
