For some reason I have not been "into" knitting as much as usual this month. It has been slow-going on the Jaywalker sock. I am at the heel flap now of the first sock. I have screwed up the sock pattern twice now, having to rip out both times. So frustrating! At least I was able to correct both mistakes. It really is an easy pattern. I can't wait to finish them and wear them.
I taught my supervisor at work to knit socks. I started her off with a simple slipper sock using two strands of worsted weight yarn. Her first sock was a mess, but after showing her how to correct her mistakes, she whipped out a pair of them in n o time. Now she is onto sock-weight yarn. She understands why sock knitting is so addictive! As a thank you she gave me some sock yarn!
I joined in for sockapaloooza today. It will be a challenge for me to knit socks for someone else. It will be fun to try something new or different. Plus the button for it is so darn cute! Sign ups end Tuesday night and are here.
Interweave Press is having a "hurt book" sale. Check it out here. I just checked, and there are 81 books left. I bought three this afternoon--"knitting on the road" and "knitting with wire" along with a book on scented geraniums. I have no idea just how hurt the books are, but I got three for under $30, including shipping, so not too bad! Thanks Teresa for the notice of the sale!
Have a great week!
