For the past year we have had a membership to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. We have gone about once a month and often bring friends or family with us. It has been a great place for the monkey boy to explore and learn. Since we first went last July, he has grown tremendously and has learned to play with more and more exhibits. A year ago he wouldn't go near the digger in the transportation room. He is now obsessed with vehicles, and diggers in particular, and loves trying to move around the balls. Today we brought my friend Chrissy and her son to play at the PTM with us. After they came with us once last summer the monkey boy mentioned that visit almost every time we went since then. He loves playing with his big buddy. The boys had a blast running around and trying out all different exhibits.
While having lunch at the museum's cafe, I noticed that the mom and son sitting at the next table looked familiar. I thought it might be Jennifer from Ninja Kitten. After deliberating with Chrissy whether I should say anything on not I decided to say hello. Thankfully it really was her and I didn't look like a complete wacko introducing myself to a stranger. We have been following each other's blogs for years prior to kids (she is a knitter too!) and our sons are just a few months apart. We tend to do similar activities with our boys and I found I was always checking for her when at local events/activities. What luck to finally meet her in real life. Her son is just as adorable in person as he is in her photos on her blog. Hopefully we can get the boys together for a play date sometime in the future.
