It's been raining all day, off and on, and is just wet and miserable outside. Thankfully there was a break in the rain this morning while we had to go to preschool. I was able to get some errands done alone and not get soaked.
The three year old decided that he did not need to take a nap in his room today and wanted to nap on the sofa. I let it go, but sleeping on the sofa didn't happen, especially with an emergency visit from the plumber (clogged sink) that freaked him out. So we have been having a movie marathon day and have watched two Curious George movies and now Toy Story is playing. He's lost interest in it, though, and has decided to take out all of his toys and put them in his tent. At least he is being pleasant!
For dinner I am using the slow cooker/crock pot to make pulled pork tacos. I found this recipe a while ago in Real Simple Magazine and it couldn't be easier. It makes more than enough to two meals for us, so I often freeze the leftovers. It makes the house smell good too. I find that cooking on high for 4-5 hours is better than cooking on low all day, so that the meat doesn't dry out too much. We have fresh lime and cilantro for toppings, along with some garden tomatoes.
We are still working on the last of the birthday cake, but after tonight, I think it will be finally gone. We celebrated the big 3 again yesterday with playgroup and shared cupcakes. He has such fun with his little friends.
