This week's long weekend holiday was fun filled so far. My husband took a couple extra days off and we had fun as a family. Our son's last day of preschool was Thursday, so as a treat we all went to the Please Touch Musuem. I'll post later about the cool new exhibit open now and all summer! It was fun for the monkey boy to show his dad all the things he loves about the museum. On Saturday I went out for lunch with a friend to Max Brenner's in Philadelphia. It's a chocolate themed restaurant. We shared an entree, an amazing roasted tomato pizza, and then dived into the amazing dessert menu. I ended up ordering dessert eggrolls filled with bananas, chocolate and peanuts served with sliced strawberries and dipping sauces: milk chocolate and salted caramel. YUM! My friend had an apple crisp with a chocolate cinnamon sauce, side of vanilla ice cream, and a mini beaker of caramel! It was served on a plate that looked like a piece of loose leaf paper!Afterwards we walked around town and shopped a bit. It was a fun afternoon in the city on a beautiful day!
For this week's menu I have planned:
Monday: cook-out with hot dogs and turkey burgers, outrageous brownies and apple crisp made with the apples I canned last fall.
Tuesday: pesto pasta and chicken
Friday:Pizza night! Not sure what flavor yet, depends what toppings we have available.
Sunday: BBQ if the weather is nice.
