Happy 2006!
2006 already? Yes, another year of knitting has passed. And on New Year's Eve I am blogging. We did go out to see a movie tonight (The Producers, very funny!) and I even got Chris to stay up until exactly midnight, but he is not the night owl like me, so he is already asleep and I am wide awake. I started a new sock for the new year--the Jaywalker pattern by Grumperina. I am using sock yarn from Tess' Designer Yarns.
I like to figure out goals for each new year. I have not yet figured out my goals for '06 yet. I just read a great article in the Philadelphia Inquirer about the topic and it highly suggested pampering oneself as a good goal. They say it helps both emotionally and physically. It sounds like a good plan to me--I need to sign up for a massage soon!
This past year I focused on completing knitting projects, from start to finish. I succeeded in all except for two--a scarf that I didn't like how it was turning out and a lacey shawl that was interfering with my holiday projects. I pulled out the pattern and the yarn for the scarf this week and plan to finish it shortly. The shawl will have to wait until the baby knitting for this quarter of the year is finished. I am amazed at how much knitting I did complete this year. I finished two pairs of socks, countless scarves, two baby blankets (one square, one pinwheel,) baby socks, two kid hats, two crayon sweaters, my clapotis, the AbFab afghan, several flower face cloths, several cotton dish cloths, two bunnies, the entralac maket squares bag, a one skein wonder and...I'm sure I'm forgetting something. For working full time, I managed to get a lot of knitting done, much more compared to other years.
I have two more days of vaction off--days to knit and continue to become more organized.
May you have a peaceful and happy 2006!
