About two weeks ago I submitted my chocolate cinnamon chippies cookie recipe to a contest hosted by a local radio station and sponsored by Hersheys. The grand prize was a stay at the Hershey Lodge and tickets to their light show, as well as a chocolate gift basket. Last Friday I got a call from the station--my recipe came in 2nd! I still won a prize, though, although it doesn't involve any chocolate. Today I drove out to the radio station, in Bala Cynwyd, and picked up my prize box. I felt like the dad in the movie A Christmas Story--I was so excited to get my prize! I won a wood cutting board, a DVD of the Iron Chef America, and an Iron Chef apron. Such excitement! lol!
The Christmas celebration this year was busy and fun. The Christmas Eve church service we went to was beautiful--they had a brass band and percussion group there to play along with the hymns, as well as a hand bell choir. The music was beautiful. Our Chinese take out feast was yummy and seemed to be a hit. (Lots of left overs, though!) Christmas day was filled with more gift opening. The kids had a blast playing with their funny uncle, who kept them entertained. They cleaned the tree of just about every candy cane and managed to eat many of them. I keep finding little red finger prints all over the place from wherever they touched.
I officially have no current knitting projects! I have sock yarn pulled out to start a new pair. I also need to work on some more baby sweaters. I have been keeping busy learning how to use my new Christmas present--a new digital camera. It has 8 megapixels! There are so many features, it will take me a while to get used to using it all. I also got a slew of new cookbooks, so I can try out some new recipes.
Have a great week!
